I attended an interesting half day conference yesterday organised by Prof. Mike Hough from Kings College London and Ipsos MORI Social Research Institute entitled "The Future of Criminal Justice. The Impact of New Policy, Fewer Resources and Public Influence" I am not a great note taker but these comments were the most significant to me.
Nick Herbert MP, Minister of State for Policing and Criminal Justice.
"We live in an age of accountability" mentioned crime mapping as part of accountability and transparant government. Push towards decentralisation. Long-term fixes (not short term media driven fixes). Holistic approach. No mention of Neighbourhood Policing. Budget cuts inevitable.
Ben Page, Cheif Executive Ipsos MORI
